Signed Limited Edition of
Robert J. Sawyer's
The Terminal Experiment

Collectors take note! This is the first-ever limited-edition hardcover of a book by Robert J. Sawyer, the 1995 Nebula Award winner, 1996 Nebula Award finalist, seven-time Aurora Award winner, and six-time Hugo nominee.

SoulWave Publishers, Inc., of Nashville, Tennessee, announces the publication of the first signed limited edition of Robert J. Sawyer's The Terminal Experiment, winner of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Nebula Award for Best Novel of 1995.

Mr. Sawyer has written a new afterword exclusively for this edition, which is limited to 200 signed copies at a price of US$50.00 net per book. The book is now sold out!

SoulWave Publishers, Inc., was formed in 1997 by Tom McGee and Larry Woods; they are using the name "SoulWave" — a term from The Terminal Experiment — with Robert J. Sawyer's permission. Their edition of The Terminal Experiment is being prepared under license from HarperCollins, publishers of the American paperback edition of the novel.

Says Tom McGee:

"The single most important fact that you need to know about Larry Woods and myself is that we are avid readers and collectors of Science Fiction novels. We formed SoulWave Publishers, Inc. because of our chagrin over the status quo in publishing today. Many important and worthy works written today are never printed in a collectable hardcover format. So what are collectors to do? Well, we decided to start our own publishing company with the sole purpose of printing signed and limited editions for ourselves and other collectors.

"Larry is a successful Nashville attorney and entrepreneur and I own a busy mail-order catalog business specializing in modern first editions — and that's just my night job. By day I work as an industrial automation consultant to manufacturing companies in the Mid-South. My wife is a physician and has a thriving private practice. My point of boring you with all of this is to make it obvious that our motivation is not financial. Larry and I just hope we break even on the books we print and end up owning really nice hardcover editions of some of our favorite books.

"Our edition of The Terminal Experiment will be octavo with red cloth boards, title embossed on front board and spine in black or gold, approximately 325 pages printed on acid-free paper, signed and numbered by Mr. Sawyer and limited to 200 copies; the book will have a dust jacket in lieu of a slipcase. As of now, it will be a bright and colorful collage of symbols portraying the ideas and storyline found in the book; the jacket will be numbered to match the number of the book.

"We plan to ship the book in early September 1997. So far, we have been pleasantly surprised with the number of orders and inquiries we are getting. At the present rate, the book could be sold-out shortly."
