Site devoted to Star Trek communicators

As anyone who has been to my home and seen my small collection of replicas knows, I love the props from the classic Star Trek series -- and now there's a fabulous new site devoted to the communicators from that series, discussing in minute detail the differences between each of the ten communicator props originally made for the show.

If you're into this sort of thing like I am, you have to check out, which went live yesterday in honor of the 40th anniversary of Star Trek.

Thanks for the link Rob. Very interesting and cool info there.

I am surprised they made that many to be honest.

Any idea of how many phasers were made ie type I & II? I assume there was only 1 phaser rifle made.

It's much cheaper to make extra props, than to halt filming for even an hour while a broken prop is repaired. There were a comparable number of phasers (although, yes, only one phaser rifle). For that matter, two Gorn suits were made, just to be on the safe side.
