Voting for the 2026 Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Awards (“the Auroras“) is now open (and closes on Friday, July 10). My The Downloaded 2: Ghosts in the Machine is a finalist (on a very strong ballot!) in the Best Novel category.

All Canadian citizens worldwide and all permanent residents in Canada are eligible to vote. To vote, you have to be a member of the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association, which costs just Cdn$10 a year (the fee goes to producing the beautiful Aurora Award trophies). Link to join is in the first comment.

For those ten Canuck bucks, you get to vote on this year’s Auroras and nominate for next year’s.

And you also get a spectacular ebook bundle as the “voter’s packet.” Among many other things, you get complete ePub ebooks of these novels:

  • The Downloaded and The Downloaded 2: Ghosts in the Machine by Robert J. Sawyer
  • Cascade and Blight by Rachel A. Rosen
  • Direct Descendant by Tanya Huff
  • A Shift of Time by Julie E. Czerneda

as well as ebooks of the six nominated young-adult novels and an ebook of Year’s Best Canadian F&SF Volume 3 plus ebooks of all four of last year’s issues of On Spec magazines, many of the short-fiction works, and much more.

(Both Rachel and my nominated books are sequels — my The Downloaded 2 and her excellent Blight — so the packet includes the first books in each of our series as a bonus.)
