First glimpse of Rollback paperback
Amazon.com has just put up the first glimpse I've seen of what the mass-market paperback of Rollback will look like. Looks gorgeous to me -- although I'm dying to know what the text in the lower left says! (The stuff under my name says, "Winner of the Hugo and Nebula Awards for Best novel.") The paperback comes out February 5, 2008.

Okay, after peering at it for a while, I've made out what it says in the lower left: "This is what SF is supposed to be about: discovery as carried out by real people. A joy to read." -- Jack McDevitt, author of Odyssey and Seeker
(plus a couple of extra words at the end of the quote that I can't quite discern)
Actually, it says, "This is what SF is supposed to be about: discovery as carried out by real people. A joy to read: a superb novel." -- Jack McDevitt, author of Odyssey, on Rollback
Wow, Don! How did you do that? I peered and peered, and was only able to piece it together by matching the rough shapes of the words to the things in my quotes file about ROLLBACK. Anyways, I'm very grateful!
Jack McDevitt is incredibly hot right now -- just won the Nebula for best novel -- and he's one of my best friends in the industry; I'm thrilled to have a blurb from him on the cover.
No prob. The image I used I had no problem reading - maybe it's bigger than the one you looked at?
