The RJS fans' guide to watching the debut of FlashForward
FlashForward, the ABC TV series based on my novel of the same name, debuts (as I write this) in three days -- on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific and 7:00 p.m. Central. In the United States, it's on ABC and in Canada it's on CTV's /A\ Channels.
Things to watch for:
MY CAMEO:
I have a small, non-speaking cameo in the first episode about halfway through (blink and you'll miss me!).
Sonya Walger plays Dr. Olivia Benford, a surgeon; there's a scene in which she's walking down a long hospital corridor while talking on her cell phone to her husband, FBI agent Mark Benford, played by Joseph Fiennes.
Behind her, in the same blue shirt I'm wearing in the photo above, talking on his own cell phone is ... me! My thanks to director David S. Goyer (on the right in the above photo) for cheerfully including this little bit of business for me; it was fun!
My CREDITS
My credits appear at the end of the episode. The very first card in the closing credits says:

Nice shirt, goofy smile, and the visitor name tag tops it off.
My DVR is set so the wife and I will be watching the first episode more than once I bet.
In the meantime, as I finished the novel -- great by the way, I especially liked the end though I was left wondering about Theo's second vision -- I think I'll go buy Rollback with my last audible credit for the month. The more I read about it the better it sounds.

The visitor's badge is a prop actually; I had to put it on for my cameo. It says "Angeles Regional Medial Center" above the word VISITOR, which is the fictitious hospital Sonya Walger's character works at. You can see the badge clearly in this large version of the photo of me and David Goyer
The stripes on your shirt weren't a Moiré patten problem for CRTs?
Hi, Chris. Watch he show for yourself and see. :)
Robert, when will it be available in the uk?
Have you been to www.jointhemosaic.com, Rob? It is an obvious tie-in site for the show FlashForward.
Kieran, FLASHFORWARD is airing on FIVE in the UK; I forget the exact start date, but it's very soon now -- check FIVE's website.
Brian, yes, indeed! And, of course, the Mosaic project comes right out of my novel (indeed, the working title for the book was MOSAIC).
I don't have cable but I'll be watching on Hulu in the days following the premier!
