FlashForward return delayed until March 18th

by Rob - January 8th, 2010.

Instead of coming back on March 4, 2010, FlashForward, the ABC TV series based on my novel of the same name, will return two weeks later, on March 18.

We’re being pushed back two weeks to keep our return from having to go head-to-head with Fox’s American Idol juggernaut; this will also let the DVD release of the first ten episodes of FlashForward have a little more time to draw in viewers for the new ones.

We’ll still have 13 new hours of the show, but it’ll be packaged as a two-hour spring premiere on March 18, 2010, and a two-hour season finale on May 27, 2010, with single hours — without repeats or pre-emptions — in between.

They’re keeping us at our Thursday at 8:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m. Central timeslot, which means they do expect us to perform well; TV advertising sells for the highest cost on Thursday nights.

  1. Sooner is better, but I understand the reasons for the delay. I'm looking forward to the show's return. Thursday nights have been uneventful of late.

I hope the writers do better with Mark's character in the coming half season. I was disappointed with his antics the last several episodes. He seemed insane.

  2. Joseph Fiennes (aka Mark Benford) may be the reason I stop watching FlashForward.

I like the show, the writers interpretation of the book is well done. But, Joseph's acting is destroying it for me.

  3. Are all the episodes already in the can? If not, have they shot your episode yet?

  4. Hi, Ryan. No and no. :) The last one that aired was 10. Numbers 11 and 12 have been filmed. I'm writing number 19 — which is still being written. :)

  5. just checked the tv pages for next week, flashforward is not being shown on channel 5 on the 18th March as it clashes with football. When will it be shown?
