Robert J. Sawyer, C.M., O.Ont., is a member of both The Order of Canada and the The Order of Ontario respectively, the highest honours given by his country and by his province and he is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
As such, he is entitled to display the honour bars shown above and to wear the medals shown below, and he is also entitled to use the Order of Canada postnominal initials C.M. (standing for “Courage and Merit”) and the Order of Ontario postnominal initials O.Ont. Rob was the first person admitted to either order specifically for work in the science-fiction field.
