Jack McDevitt
People often ask me to recommend other authors, and I'm always happy to do so. One of my all-time favorites is Jack McDevitt. Locus unveiled its current bestsellers list today, and the paperback of Jack's Polaris is number one on the list. Congratulations, Jack!

Which McDevitt would you suggest starting with?
All of Jack McDevitt's novels are good, but I have a particular fondness for Ancient Shores.
I never read Polaris, though the movie was good (if I'm thinking of the right thing).
Ancient Shores is next on my reading list, then. Thank you! I'm always on the lookout for new suggestions.
That's a different Polaris, twistednoggin ... :)
