A sneak peek at Rollback

For a limited time, the Analog website has the first seven chapters of my next novel Rollback online. You can read them here.

Analog is serializing Rollback in four parts. At the end of the online sample, it says that the story will be concluded in the next issue; that's wrong -- it runs over four issues: October 2006 (now on newsstands), November 2006 (which subscribers are just now receiving), December 2006, and the January-February 2007 double issue. Also, the part online is only a portion of what's in the October issue, which actually contains the first 12 chapters.

Enjoy!

I don't know if you mentioned this elsewhere, but Analog is also available in electronic format from Fictionwise. A PDF of the October issue cost me $4.49. Since none of my local stores carry any SF magazines, I plan to read all four parts of the serial this way.

Excellent point, John. I subscribe to Analog (and Asimov's, and F&SF) through Fictionwise.com, and, as you say, they also sell individual issues. Fictionwise has them in Mobipocket, PDF, Microsoft Reader, Rocket eBook, Franklin eBookMan, and other formats -- and you're entitled to ALL the formats for one price.

The October issue, with part one of Rollback, is here at Fictionwise.com.

I've read chaps 1 and 2 of "Rollback". What a vivd portrait of someone who bases his life upon the physical. I'm curious as to how this will turn out.

I liked the way the story was constructed.

Aaaggghh. I hardly ever read Analog, and you've hooked me with part one of Rollback. Now I have to buy the next three issues as well.
Life is unfair.
