Cover boy! On the occasion of the release of the Chinese editions of my novels Triggers and Factoring Humanity, I was featured on the cover of the Shanghai Review of Books on 18 August 2013, which comes with the Sunday edition of the Shanghai Oriental Morning Post newspaper. My Chinese publisher, Guokr, organized a fabulous book tour in China; I was there from August 15 to August 23, 2013.
Here’s the cover in high resolution and the accompanying article (in Chinese) as a PDF file.

While on your China tour, did you get any feedback on how you portrayed the PRC government in the WWW trilogy? Of course, the situation you portrayed in the books was fictional, but it was unabashedly critical!

Hi, Steve. WAKE, WATCH, and WONDER are all available in complex Chinese characters from my Taiwanese publisher. Those editions aren’t for sale officially on the mainland, but of course they’re read there nonetheless — and are extremely popular; I received nothing but kind words and praise for them while I was in China.
